The SE-USB1-EP is a new kind of device: a 2-port switch designed to replace standard Ethernet wall-ports. Ideal for home offices and conference rooms, the SE-USB1-EP is powered by a PoE+ port on the back and has 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports for connecting devices, 1 of which can power PoE devices – ideal for VoIP phones in offices or conference rooms, or powering HDMI extenders in entertainment centers. It also has a high-powered USB port, perfect for charging phones, tablets, and other devices.

High Performance Ports
The switch shares the same port performance and capabilities as the rest of the SE switch family. It features plug and play gigabit (10/100/1000) ports that automatically detect and connect at the correct port speeds. It supports auto MDI/MDI-X by detecting the required cable connection type and configures the connection appropriately to eliminate the need for crossover cables to interconnect switches. It supports 9k jumbo frames, which result in better network performance because the switch can send more data at the same time.

Power PoE Devices
In addition to providing network connectivity, one of the two ports on the SE-USB1-EP provides PoE (15.5W). As more and more devices as wireless access points, touch panels, control systems and VOIP telephone systems become PoE powered, the advantages provided by PoE become clear:

• The need for running electrical wires to new areas is removed entirely
• No more worrying about outlets, wiring, or surge protectors
• Maximum device placement flexibility as the constraint for electrical outlets nearby is removed

Silent Operation
The SE-USB1-EP was designed to be installed in-wall in locations near edge devices, including conference rooms, offices, and home theaters. This required it be designed for silent operation. This is accomplished through careful thermal management design. The SE switch has a passive thermal design and does not require a fan.

In-Wall Placement
The SE-USB1-EP is designed to be placed into any single-gang wall box for ease and versatility of use. It can easily replace any existing Ethernet wall outlet.
